JOB-1997

A venture-backed enterprise AI startup is hiring a strategist to take charge of its most important customer deployments, covering the commercial relationship, the stakeholders and the delivery. Its customers are very large global companies adopting automation that wasn’t practical before. The person in this seat acts as the face of the company inside those organizations.

What you’ll own

  • Pick up warm introductions from company leadership, sell sizable pilot engagements to senior executives and hold the commercial relationship throughout
  • Scope each deployment by learning the customer’s processes in depth, aligning the web of stakeholders and agreeing measurable success criteria upfront
  • Direct delivery teams drawn from several functions, forward deployed engineers among them, from pilot to full production
  • Handle uncertain, high-pressure enterprise situations by managing change, clearing obstacles and keeping executives on the same page
  • Find expansion openings and grow each account from a first pilot to a worldwide rollout

What you bring

  • Three or more years in top-tier strategy consulting (four or more at a second-tier firm), or enterprise sales experience selling to the largest companies, or a prior forward-deployed role at an enterprise software company
  • Direct ownership of enterprise client relationships, beyond a supporting role
  • Commercial judgment gained by defining scope, bargaining over terms and winning sizable enterprise deals
  • Strong delivery discipline and the ability to lead a team through a complex rollout
  • Able to work fully on-site, whether already local or ready to move

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa transfers are considered.
