JOB-1934

A rapidly scaling defense company building hypersonic flight vehicles needs an electrical engineer to own flight-critical hardware from concept to flight. The avionics boards act as the vehicle’s brain, and each engineer is responsible for substantial subsystems with a direct effect on mission success.

Scope

  • Own the entire design process for circuit cards, from requirements and schematics to layout, bring-up and debugging through qualification
  • Design high-speed boards that mix analog and digital circuitry, built around processors, memory, Ethernet links, power stages, sensor and actuator interfaces and backplanes
  • Work with supply chain colleagues on component selection, ordering and supplier relationships so hardware arrives on time
  • Test and verify boards against requirements, iterating on designs as needed
  • Integrate qualified hardware into the vehicle and support production readiness and high-rate manufacturing

Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • Five to eight years of hardware design experience covering the whole cycle, with complex high-speed, mixed-signal PCBs
  • Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics or semiconductors
  • Experience building and scaling test environments such as racks, fixtures or hardware-in-the-loop setups
  • Familiarity with PCB tools such as Altium or Cadence Allegro is a plus
  • U.S. person status required

On-site in Los Angeles, five days a week. No visa sponsorship or transfers.
