JOB-1748
An early-stage company designing custom AI silicon needs a hands-on operations generalist so that its technical staff are never held back by logistics or administration. Practically, this person absorbs every task that is outside research and chip design.
What you’ll own
- Purchasing and supply: buying hardware and supplies, dealing with vendors, handling shipments, tracking where each item is, and processing returns of broken gear
- Administration: bookkeeping, insurance, legal filings and the office, coordinating with an outside accountant, broker and attorneys
- People tasks: managing hiring from first contact to offer, calendars, onboarding of non-engineering hires, and working with immigration lawyers on visa cases
- Support for the founder: scheduling, logistics and personal errands
- Hardware and IT as your skills allow: building and testing compute equipment, managing devices and logins, and safeguards for intellectual property
- Investor relations: maintaining the data room and following through after investor meetings
Who thrives here
- Experience handling operations at a young startup, hardware business or research lab
- A habit of finishing what you start without nudges, and concise, clear communication
- Technical literacy and ease around hardware; no machine-learning or chip experience needed
- Willingness to take on unglamorous tasks that free up others
- Bonus: system administration, infrastructure, security or fundraising experience
- A valid driver’s license and current work authorization
On-site in the South Bay (Silicon Valley). No visa sponsorship or transfers.
