A small, senior engineering team at a young company is building AI-first software for financial analysis that replaces manual accounting work with automated backend systems. The hire will be a core builder who approaches high-stakes AI problems with a methodical, experiment-driven attitude.
Primary duties
- Create agentic AI systems that loop and orchestrate tools, driving customer-facing functionality that runs live
- Transform disorganized financial records into code-driven pipelines that model them and draw out insights
- Carry features all the way from understanding what users need to shipping, observing and refining them
- Design and run rigorous evaluations to learn whether AI approaches actually improve results
- Replace routine manual accounting tasks with automated server-side services
Skills required
- Five or more years shipping production code with strong software fundamentals, especially production-grade Python and backend services
- Experience with agentic or LLM-driven systems that use tools, APIs, documents or databases, ideally in production rather than as prompt wrappers or side projects
- Comfort designing evaluations for probabilistic outputs and winning stakeholder buy-in with results
- Ownership mentality and zero-to-one experience, with time in both a rigorous, scaled environment and one where individual decisions had weight
- Solid relational-database skills and reliable pipelines over messy data
- Clear communication in an asynchronous, writing-heavy setting
Remote, for candidates who live in the United States (New York or other Eastern time zone locations are preferred). Candidates must not require sponsorship at present or down the road.
