JOB-1690

An early-stage startup applying AI to design software for manufacturers is preparing its first product release and hiring its very first sales person. The job suits a recent or soon-to-be graduate who wants an entry point into technical selling at the ground floor.

Responsibilities

  • Compile target lists covering machine shops, factories and hardware firms, and research each one before reaching out
  • Write and send personalized outbound emails that win first conversations
  • Pass interested prospects to the product and engineering team, who run demos
  • Check in regularly with product colleagues so your outreach reflects current features
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and test different messages methodically to learn what gets answers

Who thrives here

  • A new graduate, or one finishing school between May and December 2026; professional sales experience is not needed
  • Excellent writing: short, specific, personal messages written by you rather than generated
  • Persistence and resourcefulness, with comfort around frequent rejection and uncertainty
  • Genuine curiosity about making physical goods so you can explain their value
  • Helpful but optional: exposure to hardware, machining or robotics, outbound tools experience, or past SDR internships

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, five days a week. Not able to consider candidates who need visa sponsorship or transfer.
