Lead Full-Stack Engineer (Scientific Software)

An enterprise software firm focused on scientific research and development (Series B) needs a senior full-stack engineer to lead work on its flagship application. Right now the company is joining its long-running records platform with a newly built layer of AI agents, aiming for a single interface where scientists and agents collaborate.

Scope

• Own the product’s core across data modeling, a TypeScript server and a React client
• Design screens that agents can operate: pre-populated forms, recommendation panels and guided flows that ask a person for input only when necessary
• Link the existing record-keeping product to the agent layer while meeting the demands of a regulated, quality-assured environment
• Engineer for enterprise customers with fine-grained permissions, migrations that never drop data and releases without downtime across multiple data stores
• Carry features from the first spec through repeated improvement alongside product, design and customer teams

Requirements

• Between six and ten years building full-stack applications in React, TypeScript and Python
• Real production exposure to AI features, such as streaming output, agentic workflows, evals or retrieval
• Ownership across the whole stack; purely front-end or back-end profiles are not a match
• Time at respected, product-driven startups is a plus
