JOB-1373
A security software vendor at the Series B stage, whose customers are big enterprises, wants an engineer who handles infrastructure through software rather than manual operations. Picture someone who writes real services and libraries, not someone who mostly watches dashboards and clears tickets.
Responsibilities
- Make sure the product stays available, protected and fast while usage climbs
- Be the owner of important infrastructure building blocks, making architectural choices with considerable freedom
- Give application teams self-service tooling and sensible defaults so they can ship sooner
- Collaborate with technical leaders and product colleagues on direction and design
- Talk directly with customers when infrastructure topics come up
- Improve engineering practices and processes for the whole platform group
Qualifications
- Four or more years writing software for distributed systems, including some time on a platform or infrastructure team building the services yourself
- You can clear the company’s standard coding interview and a design interview about large systems
- Proficiency in Go or another systems-oriented language
- Production cloud experience on AWS or GCP
- Practical working knowledge of container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code and streaming platforms
- Exposure to multi-tenant or enterprise-scale products
- Candidates already on a work visa may transfer
Based in San Francisco on a hybrid schedule.
