Product Engineer, Backend-Leaning Full-Stack (Insurance AI)

A venture-backed startup is building an AI platform that automates tedious manual work for insurance brokerages, and it is rapidly expanding its engineering group. It wants curious, self-driven engineers at every level from mid-career to staff and principal, working across the stack but leaning toward the backend.

Where you’ll contribute

• Grow products that already have strong demand to a much larger user base, while adding features that deepen their value
• Lead zero-to-one efforts on insurance workflows no one has automated before, experimenting and getting early versions to customers quickly
• Build features across the stack with a backend emphasis, such as processing large batches of lengthy PDFs and spreadsheets and deep browser automation into legacy systems
• Help merge separate point solutions into one platform that customers configure themselves by picking the workflows they need
• Work alongside product managers, designers and customers so the result matches real needs and business goals

Experience

• Four to sixteen years as a full-stack or backend engineer, with a record of stable tenure and growth
• Prior zero-to-one product work and MVPs shipped to customers
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines and deploying production applications
• Experience integrating third-party services such as Stripe
• Startup or founding-engineer background is a plus; ownership, curiosity and friendliness matter

On-site five days a week in San Francisco; no relocation support. Visa transfers can be considered.
