JOB-1795
A young company that creates expert-built datasets for leading AI labs is hiring a hands-on engineer to run strategic projects. The role mixes client work, project leadership and operations, and the person who takes it will influence how frontier models get evaluated and improved, while contributing directly to revenue.
Scope
- Work with top AI organizations to build data solutions that stretch what models can do
- Coordinate teams of specialists from fields such as finance, software engineering and law, producing high-quality output at scale
- Write dataset specifications that determine how models are tested and refined
- Take responsibility for each project across its whole arc, defining scope, building, refining and releasing work under pressure and at speed
- Pitch in on operational initiatives across the business, moving between building, analyzing and coordinating as needs shift
Ideal background
- Two to ten years of professional engineering work beyond internships, as an individual contributor rather than a director or VP
- Experience in chemical or biomedical engineering, biotech, pharma or related life-science engineering, such as process design, devices or drug development
- Ability to explain reasoning and defend pivots with data
- Evidence of competitive success, such as patents, publications, licensing exams or top academic and professional achievement
- Python, simulation or analysis tooling and AI-assisted coding workflows are pluses; a graduate degree is preferred
- A steady work history without a string of very short stints
On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area; relocation support is not provided. Visa transfers and new sponsorships are both considered.
