JOB-1557
A small, fast-moving startup serving aerospace and defense supply chains needs a hands-on cloud engineer to be its only infrastructure specialist. The engineers around you will depend on your pipelines, security and tooling daily, and you will report to the CTO.
Day to day
- Own every CI/CD pipeline, refactoring where needed, covering the customer-facing app, vendor portal, internal ERP and ML workflows, in both standard AWS and GovCloud regions
- Take charge of cloud design plus hardening: segmentation, least-privilege IAM, encryption, secrets handling, audit trails and automated vulnerability patching
- Give a lean product engineering team deployments that are repeatable, observable and simple to roll back
- Maintain infrastructure-as-code, along with monitoring, alerts, backups and incident runbooks for dev, staging and prod
- Set up networking and access for recently built internal GPU training machines
- Improve performance, uptime and cloud spend, and back customer security reviews with documented controls
What you bring
- Two to five years across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform or SRE work, with cloud as your core focus
- AWS pipelines you designed, built and ran in production, ideally from nothing within a young startup or a tiny team
- Infrastructure-as-code experience with Pulumi, CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform
- A scrappy builder’s mindset rather than a process-heavy one
- Plus: GovCloud or regulated environments, security depth such as pen testing, aerospace and defense exposure
This is an individual-contributor role. On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates must be US citizens or green card holders; visa sponsorship is not available.
