Our client is a small, mission-driven company using AI agents to modernize how small-business customers and their staff buy and manage health and employee benefits. Its agents already do meaningful work daily, and it now needs a senior engineer to shape the whole experience around that work, spanning the data layer, APIs and finished interface.
What you’ll own
- A console where advisors review what requires action, handle it and exchange tasks with AI agents
- The small-business journey, beginning with quotes and plan choice and continuing through onboarding
- The employee experience, including ID cards, enrollment, mid-year changes and clear answers about coverage
- Python and TypeScript interfaces and data schemas that link operations, carrier data and agents, with a human stepping in when an agent falters
- Regular sessions alongside advisors and their customers to understand needs, then carrying vague problems through to released solutions and checking results
About you
- Five to twelve years as a full stack engineer, having owned and shipped a product from beginning to end
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript; React or another modern front-end framework is a plus
- Experience with AI engineering, such as agents, evals, LLM APIs or fine-tuning
- Time at a growth-stage startup, at a large tech company or as a founder
- A humble, collaborative style and a real interest in making benefits accessible
- Healthcare or insurance technology exposure is a bonus
