JOB-1940

A well-funded infrastructure startup is hiring systems engineers to contribute to the heart of its GPU virtualization software. The job suits someone who enjoys squeezing microseconds out of intricate C++ code and wants to build low-level software that supports an expanding customer base.

Scope

  • Build and evolve the central C++ library that handles the virtualization
  • Research areas such as oversubscription and checkpointing, plus fast GPU systems generally
  • Add support for new hardware architectures, drawing on knowledge across the whole system
  • Debug systems problems directly in production
  • Investigate slowdowns in customer workloads

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of C++ systems engineering, with elite C++ skill (strong Rust is also acceptable)
  • Production experience with low-level systems such as operating systems, kernels, memory or drivers
  • Experience optimizing network interface and C++ performance, and the ability to trace issues across the stack
  • Kubernetes, infrastructure or distributed-systems background is helpful, as are compilers or networking protocols
  • Fast, high-output habits in an early-stage startup
  • A strong computer science degree and production experience rather than a purely academic path

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa transfers considered.
