A rapidly expanding investor in industrial real estate is building a new in-house software product to take the place of general-purpose tools, and it needs a product-minded engineer to be its first, owning the whole frontend. The firm uses data and AI in a fragmented market that has seen little technology. The product is brand new, so almost everything is built from zero.
What you’ll own
- The frontend codebase, starting with refactoring an early AI-generated version and creating a design system of reusable components
- Insight-heavy interfaces for the acquisition and leasing groups, featuring maps, charts and AI features over the underlying data, to improve investment decisions
- Hands-on sessions with colleagues who will use the tool, to understand their processes, capture needs and try out quick prototypes
- Design work using Figma or AI tools, plus your own product ideas and a voice in the roadmap alongside leadership
- New products for several additional business functions that currently lack tooling, built with the backend lead and the quantitative research team
About you
- Four to ten years of frontend-heavy work building production applications in React and Next.js
- At least two years at a big tech company or a top growth-stage startup
- Experience owning product development from scoping to deployment, including data-intensive interfaces
- Comfort with Figma and with AI coding and design tools for fast prototyping
- Ability to work independently and enjoy talking directly with users
- A computer science degree
On-site in New York, NY, four to five days a week. Existing transferable visas are accepted; new sponsorship is not offered.
