Our client is a Series A company that supplies agentic AI to retail financial institutions. It wants a principal-level product leader to take charge of the shared AI platform underneath all its products. As the company moves to a newer agent platform, this person will choose what to merge, build and retire.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineering leaders to rank what the platform should do, and guide the other product managers
- Arbitrate between conflicting asks from the company’s product lines and decide sequencing
- Audit the layered platform to learn what is already built, what can be pooled across products and what is missing
- Own the interfaces other teams rely on: API design, version management, retiring old releases and migration planning
- Stay close to the details, sharing accountability for results alongside engineers, and use AI tools to build every day
Qualifications
- Eight to fifteen years in product management, including at least two recent years owning a product at a Series A to D startup at staff or principal level
- Experience owning a multi-component platform that serves several product teams
- AI or ML platform background such as LLM orchestration, evals, fine-tuning, RAG or agentic frameworks
- Proven zero-to-one ownership from concept to launch
- Hands-on building with AI agents, scripts or workflows beyond prompting
- A technical or engineering background is a plus
