JOB-1826

A well-funded AI startup building an agent-based product wants a platform engineer to run the systems underneath both its research effort and its customer-facing offering. The person in this seat will make the internal engineering foundation faster, more repeatable and easier to trust.

The work

  • Build and run the cloud foundation behind experiments and live products, covering compute, storage, delivery pipelines, monitoring and security
  • Create internal tools, automation and shared code that save time for every engineering and research group
  • Develop dependable systems for managing data, trying out models, scoring them and releasing them
  • Shape how code travels from first prototype to production, including how it is compiled, verified and shipped
  • Track service health and performance, and partner with researchers and product engineers to find and remove slowdowns
  • Help set long-term infrastructure direction while the business expands

Ideal background

  • Five to twelve years as a backend or platform engineer who has launched a customer-facing platform from zero, ideally one serving LLM or agent workloads
  • Experience in both large technology companies and early-stage or research settings
  • Senior or staff individual contributor who still codes daily and owns whole systems
  • Solid Python or Go, APIs, databases and distributed systems, plus working knowledge of Kubernetes and a major cloud provider
  • Hands-on production exposure to LLM or agent serving, orchestration, memory, tool use or evaluation
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and an AI-native way of working

On-site in the South Bay Area (Silicon Valley). Visa transfers considered.
