JOB-1759
A mission-driven education nonprofit with a very small engineering group is hiring a senior full-stack engineer to build products for learners and volunteer tutors around the world. The role leans toward product thinking: engineers talk to users, frame the problem and carry a solution through to launch.
Responsibilities
- Own full-stack features from problem definition through MVP, release and iteration
- Join small pods of designers, engineers and program managers to launch fresh learning programs and trials
- Speak with users, suggest solutions and weigh feasibility against learner needs instead of simply working through tickets
- Write readable code in TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js and Postgres, and improve shared patterns for future work
- Give code reviews, pair with peers and share an on-call rotation (about one week in six) so the platform stays dependable
Who thrives here
- Five to thirteen years of full-stack engineering
- Has shipped consumer products end to end to thousands of users
- Experience with typed languages and relational databases
- Background at a small, fast-growing consumer startup
- Genuine interest in education or social impact
- Comfortable working directly with non-technical users and stakeholders
- Ed-tech, marketplace or real-time video experience and AWS or GCP exposure are pluses
Remote within the United States. Visa sponsorship and transfers are not available. As a nonprofit, the role carries no equity.
