A small wealth-management technology startup is building software where AI agents are treated as the main operators of the core client record, with human financial advisors working beside them. It is hiring applied AI engineers to own the whole agent stack, in a team that works together in one office.
Your focus
- Build a general-purpose agent for multi-step work, including planning, sandboxed code runs, web lookups and retrieval, to serve advisors
- Create always-on background agents acting for clients and advisors: sorting mail, processing meetings, drafting messages and flagging what deserves attention early
- Develop the orchestration layer connecting models, context windows, tool access, search and business rules into one dependable system
- Design generative interfaces that keep an advisor in control while agent and advisor truly work as partners
- Create an evaluation framework that satisfies both strict accuracy on financial data and softer, judgment-based tasks
- Develop memory that captures how each client thinks about money and surfaces it when relevant
About you
- Four to ten years in full-stack or backend engineering, with production LLM agent systems in your history
- Hands-on knowledge of orchestration, retrieval, tool calling and prompt design
- Solid fundamentals in APIs, data modeling and system design
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment
- Comfort with non-deterministic systems and a habit of validating progress through rigorous evaluation
- High standards for output quality and careful attention to the consequences of errors in financial settings
- A collaborative, candid and humble working style
