Product Lead (Accounting AI Startup)

A Seed-stage startup that builds an AI-native platform for accounting firms is hiring a product lead who comes from the finance side. The role suits someone with real accounting or financial-services depth who wants to convert that expertise into durable software.

Day to day

• Lead discovery work and customer research for the product, including user interviews and process mapping, and shape the roadmap with the technical and executive founders
• Work inside the product as a user would, such as running a real close, and feed those lessons into roadmap choices
• Pair up with product engineers on specifying needs, and with the applied AI team on evaluation methodology, datasets and reliability
• Design and ship modest customer-facing features with the help of AI coding tools; no engineering degree needed
• Study production workflows to keep AI performance strong across the monthly close, audit, tax and bookkeeping
• Guide UI and UX choices with a high standard for quality

Who thrives here

• Three to eight years in accounting, tax, audit or finance, or in strategy consulting with hands-on financial work
• Domain depth in financial services or fintech
• Evidence that you have built something using AI coding agents, plus a grasp of client, server and database basics
• Comfort collaborating closely with users and software engineers
• A plus: having run an accounting practice, chief-of-staff experience, or an operator-generalist background, and a basic sense of design
