JOB-1523
A Series A company that sells an AI-powered data platform to investment firms is hiring an engineer to take charge of the technical relationship with customers. The person will work inside buyout, credit and venture investors, shaping solutions on top of their data and presenting complex infrastructure to senior executives.
Day to day
- Build and demonstrate tailored solutions on client data, joining structured and unstructured material such as PDFs, spreadsheets and databases, reconciling the results and putting a useful front end on them
- Handle technical work before a sale: reusable demo environments, private demos on a prospect’s own data, and support for deal strategy
- After a sale, work with engineers on lighter implementations, data integrations, evaluations and feedback loops
- Spend time next to analysts at investment firms to learn their workflows and convert recurring patterns into product enhancements
- Speak for the customer and judge what should become a product feature versus a one-off
About you
- Three to eight years as a full-stack or backend software engineer, with meaningful customer-facing work; five or more is ideal
- Has shipped software for outside customers, either in a forward-deployed role or on client implementations
- Solid SQL and Python, and ease with messy unstructured data and AI-assisted coding tools
- Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, LLMs, vector databases and agentic workflows
- A high-agency, founder-like mindset and real enthusiasm for customer-facing, sales-adjacent work
- Experience at an early-stage or AI-native company
- A plus: having built software for investment firms
On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York, NY. Visa transfers and sponsorship considered.
