JOB-1429

A developer-focused data and API company is staffing a small, fast-moving team that puts licensed third-party datasets into production behind its public API. That covers meter tracking, consumption-based billing and access entitlements required to sell them. The company wants a seasoned product engineer who treats customer feedback as input to real product choices.

The work

  • Gather customer feedback and usage signals, decide what deserves priority and ship it
  • Build and launch integrations linking external data suppliers with the platform
  • Make strategic product decisions, working out the real need behind each customer request
  • Own the product from start to finish, working alongside the founder while retaining wide autonomy
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups, since the product touches several parts of the platform

About you

  • Five or more years as a product, backend or integrations engineer who still writes production code
  • At least two years spent mainly on consumption metering, billing by usage or entitlements, rather than general payments work
  • Experience shipping developer-facing or externally facing products
  • TypeScript background, such as Next.js, Node or Express
  • Startup experience and comfort speaking directly with customers
  • Focus on AI agents and automation; data licensing know-how is a plus

On-site five days a week in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Canada. Visa transfers and new sponsorships considered.
