JOB-1422
A startup building an AI-native work platform for enterprise marketing teams wants its first security engineer. The hire reports to the engineering VP and takes charge of security for both the product and the platform, start to finish. The job is engineering work with a security emphasis rather than a monitoring or operations function.
What you’ll own
- Secure the cloud environment, Kubernetes clusters and identity and access management for a platform of AI agents used by very large brands
- Establish a secure software development lifecycle and build the tooling to support it
- Write the code and infrastructure for security work yourself instead of delegating it
- Anticipate AI-specific threats, including prompt injection in agent-based systems
- Influence engineering decisions across teams and explain tradeoffs to non-technical colleagues
About you
- Five to sixteen years as a software or security engineer, at senior or staff level, having owned security for complex production systems in the cloud
- Application security depth plus Terraform or other infrastructure as code, with Kubernetes and IAM expertise
- Proof that you personally built and shipped the security work you describe
- Working knowledge of LLMs and their risks
- Comfort being a hands-on individual contributor with no existing security team
- Not a fit: backgrounds purely in SOC, SIEM, endpoint or compliance work without software engineering
On-site in Seattle. Unable to sponsor or transfer visas, so existing US work authorization is required.
