JOB-1382
Our client, a late-stage startup behind AI-powered marketing software, is adding an engineering manager because of team growth rather than to replace anyone. You would lead a group of about four to eight engineers building products in which AI agents plan, produce and run marketing campaigns.
What the job involves
- Drive the group’s roadmap and release important capabilities, keeping engineering standards high and making pragmatic calls
- Keep the team moving quickly, staying close enough to the code to contribute directly during crunch periods
- Collaborate with product, design, sales-side and neighboring engineering groups on systems for generating content, managing context, producing insights and coordinating campaigns across paid and lifecycle channels
- Build agent-based systems that pair large language models with a customer’s data, brand rules and results history, so what they produce is dependable enough for real customers
- Run hiring for your group end to end: scoping roles, designing interviews and landing strong people
- Strengthen reliability, respond well to incidents and develop the engineers on your team
Ideal background
- One or more years of formal management experience and strong software engineering fundamentals
- A history of delivering significant products at a fast-growing early-stage company
- Equally comfortable coding for a sprint and handling prioritization, cross-team work and people growth
- Prior work with agentic or LLM products is a plus; careers entirely at very large tech firms are usually a mismatch
- Authorized to work without needing new visa sponsorship
Remote, in US and Canadian time zones.
