Job Description
Our client is seeking a civil litigation Associate Attorney to join their Transportation and Tort Liability Practice in New York, NY, with a hybrid work schedule. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with 3–5 years of experience in defense litigation, particularly in transportation, construction, or general tort liability. The role is well-suited for candidates who are proactive, detail-oriented, and thrive in both independent and collaborative environments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a personal caseload involving transportation, construction litigation, and tort liability matters from inception to resolution.
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, prepare pleadings, and respond to discovery requests.
- Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
- Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Collaborate with partners, clients, and experts to develop and implement case strategies.
- Perform legal research and draft memoranda to support litigation efforts.

Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admitted to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
- 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in a defense setting.
- Proficiency in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and courtroom advocacy.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.
