A fully remote, AI-native mortgage technology company is building automation to replace slow legacy software at home lenders, with a long-term aim of fully automated loan origination. It is hiring a senior or staff engineer to help lead the team. Engineers there ship to production almost immediately and take on a mission-critical project within the first month.
What you’ll build
- Design and launch sophisticated agents with many steps that lenders use to digitize operational workflows and cut costs
- Integrate with third-party lending-services APIs for document and disclosure generation, automated underwriting results and fraud prevention
- Rebuild the job-processing layer on AWS so the backend is easier to monitor and more dependable
- Work across the full stack: React front end, Node/Express back end, GraphQL and Postgres, with infrastructure managed in Terraform
- Coach junior colleagues on both technical and interpersonal skills
What you bring
- Deep TypeScript and a truly full stack background, from initial design to production release
- Experience at product-driven tech companies, venture-backed or large, where software was the product
- Track record growing cloud-based distributed systems that handle heavy traffic, ideally with infrastructure as code
- Strong relational database design skills; a single loan involves a huge number of attributes
- A security-minded approach, since the product handles sensitive personal data
- Familiarity with modern AI development practices such as evals and dataset curation
- Product sense and an SRE-style reliability mindset
