Founding Engineer (Agentic Commerce Startup)

A pre-seed commerce-infrastructure startup is hiring an early engineer to own core systems behind a universal shopping cart. The hard part is building automated agents that can complete genuine purchases on arbitrary merchant sites, adapt on their own and cope with bot defenses and checkout flows that shift without notice.

Responsibilities

• Design dependable backend services covering payments, checkout and catalog data
• Build and scale the checkout agents from end to end
• Have a hand in early hiring and the team’s culture

Background we like

• At least a year of experience shipping production software, in a backend or full-stack capacity
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React and relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL
• Familiarity with proxies, browser automation, captcha handling, anti-bot systems and anti-fraud tooling
• Experience writing scrapers or checkout bots, such as for limited-release sneakers or tickets, is a strong plus
• Time at a small, venture-backed early-stage startup
• Ability to start right away, with projects shipped outside of work or school
