A high-growth online marketplace for collectibles needs an engineer to run the money-movement side of the business. This is not routine card processing. The platform moves large-value bank transfers in real time, and the engineer joining will work on the systems that keep those funds accurate.
Responsibilities
- Handle a steady flow of big-ticket payments via Stripe and links with partner banks
- Maintain the marketplace’s in-house double-entry ledger
- Add ledgers to support lending and other financial offerings down the line
- Split time roughly seventy percent backend in Python and thirty percent frontend in React and React Native
- Collaborate inside a very small payments group that works from a ticket queue
Qualifications
- Four or more years of full stack engineering with a backend emphasis
- Hands-on experience with ACH, wire or real-time payment rails and with double-entry ledgers
- Prior work at a fintech that operates its own ledger, such as an exchange, neobank, lending or payments company
- Python or TypeScript, plus a React frontend
- Active use of AI coding tools in daily work
- Plus: early-stage or small-team experience, and mobile exposure
