JOB-1865
A fast-growing defense-technology company building hypersonic strike vehicles for a military customer needs a senior engineer to own integration and verification as it approaches its first customer deliveries. The engineer is embedded in manufacturing from the outset, crossing mechanical, electrical and software disciplines.
Core activities
- Lead vehicle-level integration, confirming that each subsystem physically mates and performs as intended, across propulsion, avionics, structures and warheads as vehicles flow down the line
- Develop and run integration and test strategies that surface problems during the build instead of afterward, serving as the last quality checkpoint ahead of handoff
- Write and run Python and LabVIEW automation behind environmental test campaigns covering thermal, vacuum-chamber and vibration exposure
- Design tooling and fixtures that let teams safely handle and put together energetic materials and intricate mechanical assemblies
- Coach a less experienced colleague in integration and help build up the test group as production ramps across sites
Minimum profile
- Five to eight years in integration and test for complex hardware such as aerospace, defense or propulsion products
- Daily hands-on work physically assembling parts, not just managing tickets
- Time on first builds or pilot builds in a startup or new-product environment, rather than only mature legacy programs
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering
- Python scripting for test automation, plus the foresight to spot integration problems before final assembly
- Eligibility under US export-control rules (ITAR)
- A plus: munitions or energetics integration experience and 3D CAD familiarity
On-site in Los Angeles. Visa sponsorship is not available.
