JOB-1866

A fast-growing AI startup is hiring its first internal operations leader to collaborate daily with the chief executive and the CTO on the biggest strategic priorities. The scope runs from building out the team to owning the financials to leading pushes into new customers and verticals.

Core responsibilities

  • Run hiring as headcount grows rapidly over the coming months
  • Manage company financials, including the P&L, costs and margins, and lead a weekly review of business performance
  • Lead strategic projects with outsized payoff as they appear, such as account expansions, entry into new verticals and research efforts
  • Create the company’s internal operating processes from a blank page, as the function’s first member
  • Collaborate with engineering, research and client-facing groups to remove obstacles

Candidate profile

  • Several years in operating roles, ideally within a young startup or at a top management consultancy
  • Hands-on exposure to an early-stage company as it scaled its headcount substantially, plus financial modeling and P&L experience
  • A generalist problem solver who takes full ownership and drives ambiguous problems to completion without supervision
  • Willingness to lean on AI coding assistants and similar tools; eagerness matters more than track record with them
  • A stable work history, without a pattern of short stints
  • Clear career ambition and the ability to explain why this role and this company
  • Ability to be in the office every day, with relocation support available

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, five days a week. Visa transfers considered.
