An AI startup that analyzes large volumes of consumer feedback for brands is hiring a senior platform engineer for its New York office. The role centers on data work behind the scenes, within a compact team that gives people real independence.
Scope
- Design and build the data models, integrations and pipelines that power an AI-driven customer-insights platform
- Take ownership of platform capabilities spanning data models, APIs, server infrastructure and monitoring, ensuring broad product impact
- Collaborate with PMs and feature engineers to translate what customers need into conventional and agent-driven features
- Create behind-the-scenes tools and data-administration screens that customers never encounter yet the platform relies on
- Drive agentic workflow projects from model research and choice to production, working with LLMs, APIs and MCP
- Introduce fresh AI and developer tooling to raise team velocity and codebase health, and occasionally assist the customer-facing teams with technical questions
Ideal background
- Three to six years as a working software engineer, ideally for a company shipping AI products
- Strong backend experience designing scalable data models, pipelines and integrations, with Postgres
- A history of taking responsibility for projects and delivering them with little oversight
- Bonus: Python and experience building LLM-based agentic workflows, including evaluating models beyond the best-known providers
- A bachelor’s degree is required, though any institution qualifies
On-site in New York, NY, at least four days a week. Visa sponsorship is not available.
