JOB-1884

A young AI-focused company that acquires and operates American manufacturing businesses serving aerospace and defense customers is looking for its first senior finance leader. The mandate is to become the company’s investor-minded deployer of money across the domestic industrial base, a job that rewards speed of execution over avoiding risk.

Your scope

  • Head up acquisition finance: shape deal terms, perform diligence and valuation work, and determine the right leverage for each purchase
  • Take charge of capital deployment and planning and analysis, including the financial model, cash outlooks and investor updates that underpin later fundraising
  • Oversee the onboarding of newly bought factories, converting messy small-business books into clean, uniform finance operations and hiring local controllers
  • Build out the finance team across deals, planning and post-acquisition reporting, working next to the current interim finance lead
  • Act as a sounding board for the founders and represent the company before top investors, with an eventual path toward a public offering

What you bring

  • Five or more years in finance, starting with a bank or private equity firm and followed by strategic finance, corporate development or finance leadership inside a fast-scaling startup
  • Strong transaction skills: underwriting acquisitions, structuring deals, handling debt and running diligence
  • Reasoning from first principles and comfort with big swings for big upside, preferring startup-style ownership to bonus-heavy pay
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Willingness to visit portfolio factories frequently

On-site in New York, NY, five days a week. Candidates must be US citizens or green card holders; no visa sponsorship.
