A research-minded startup that supplies data for training AI models is hiring several product-focused engineers who lean toward the backend. These engineers help customers understand the audio their models learn from, and collaborate closely with an in-house ML research group on how data is gathered and processed at very large scale.
What you’ll own
- Drive full-stack feature work, weighted roughly two thirds toward backend, and ship improvements to users on a daily rhythm
- Create and expand systems that handle terabytes of audio and surface useful insights to customers
- Work with ML researchers to continually refine data collection and usage for model training
- Roll out and assess LLM-based and signal-processing approaches that deepen customer understanding of their data
- Mentor teammates and set technical standards as the group grows
About you
- Five or more years in full-stack or product engineering, building production-grade user experiences (staff-level engineers welcome)
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Python
- Experience with large-scale data processing; audio or AI/ML exposure is a bonus
- Recent time at a high-growth, venture-backed startup or a top tech company
- A computer science degree, clear communication with researchers and customers, and appetite for early-stage intensity
On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, five days a week. Visa transfers considered.
