Applied AI Scientist (Supply Chain AI)

A company that trains its own large AI models to predict and optimize the operations of very large supply chains is seeing strong customer demand and growing its applied AI group. The role suits a technical person who is equally at ease with customers, perhaps with a background in analytics, deployment engineering or solution design, and who will be a trusted partner to enterprise clients from first demo to full rollout.

Core assignments

• Sit down with customers to learn what slows their operations, then describe the problems in terms both engineers and business stakeholders follow
• Lead demos that focus on technical substance and business value, and create tailored demonstrations and working prototypes that help sales
• Analyze customer data in Python and SQL, surfacing and showing real business value
• Guide customers technically from trial runs through to full implementation
• Help live deployments deliver the benefits customers were promised

Strengths to bring

• Three to eight years as a data scientist, forward deployed engineer or solutions architect
• Customer-facing experience with enterprise deployments, pilots, demos or operational data problems, for example in retail or consumer goods
• Experience building custom demos and proofs of concept in code
• Background selling or supporting a product that required a working grasp of machine learning
• A bachelor’s degree in a STEM or quantitative field
• Experience at an ML platform company, an early-stage startup or a top consulting firm is valued
• A builder mindset and willingness to learn new topics quickly
