JOB-1746
A young company that secures enterprise AI deployments needs a senior infrastructure engineer to lead its networking and distributed-systems foundation. Each action taken by an AI agent in a customer environment must reach this infrastructure, receive a policy ruling and proceed within milliseconds. Interest from prospects is outpacing engineering capacity, so this hire helps close that gap.
Day to day
- Devote around eighty percent of your time to the product’s core infrastructure, including proxies and gateways that understand the protocols for model, tool and database traffic, frequently using Envoy and network-layer tools
- Engineer the millisecond-scale critical path so policy decisions and inline model inspections happen on every call at large-enterprise throughput
- Design heavy-throughput data pipelines plus storage to keep each agent action searchable for investigations and behavioral analysis
- Spend about twenty percent working with customers, running cloud, VPC and on-premise installs for large organizations
- Take ownership of a product area across Rust, Go and Python, sitting alongside the founders
Qualifications
- Four to ten years as an infrastructure engineer; some startup background helps balance a young team
- Experience at a company whose underlying system is what customers buy, such as databases, data platforms or payments
- Production distributed systems at scale
- Deep protocol knowledge: parsing wire formats, packet captures, tail-latency tuning
- Familiarity with proxies, gateways, load balancers or storage engines is a plus
On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa transfers and new sponsorship are both possible.
