Head of Engineering (Business Verification AI Startup)

A seed-stage startup is building AI-driven verification of business identity data for enterprise customers, and it needs a hands-on engineering leader to run the technical side. Expect to code about half the time and spend the rest guiding and growing the team, in close partnership with the CEO.

What you’ll lead

• Grow the engineering team, set the hiring standard and recruit strong engineers
• Keep shipping production code next to the people you manage
• Set AI strategy and oversee systems of cooperating agents that check company data automatically across the world
• Help decide what the product does and how it feels, as part of the leadership group
• Be responsible for the technical direction, system design and platform choices as the company enters fresh geographies

Who you are

• Roughly seven to ten years in software engineering, ideally on product teams, with experience leading a small team (about five to fifteen people)
• Time at a respected, fast-growing startup, with early-stage exposure a strong plus
• Current hands-on coding, not purely management
• B2B and enterprise instincts plus a product mindset that weighs customer impact
• Helpful: background in fintech, identity, KYC/KYB, fraud or other regulated domains
