A venture-backed startup running an on-demand staffing marketplace for hourly and supply-chain work wants a product engineer who can fold AI agents into everyday software. The aim is to automate how workers are found, vetted, matched and placed, building on an agent platform that another team maintains.
What the seat covers
- Put existing agents and cutting-edge models to work across the worker-facing app, the app for businesses, the ops platform and the marketplace, automating vetting, matching and fulfilment
- Drive both frontend and backend work and mentor teammates
- Architect core systems including live matching, self-running vetting flows, distributed services and APIs
- Take full responsibility for product surfaces, collaborating with product and design colleagues
- Shift between priorities as they change, which might mean an agent one quarter and a payments flow the next
Skills and background
- Three to five years owning features and products at a fast-growing startup, with tangible business results
- Depth in TypeScript, React or React Native, Node.js and/or PostgreSQL
- Equally at home with interface design, user experience and the infrastructure used to deploy software
- Ideally 0-to-1 work on agentic AI, or marketplace and matching systems
- Strong product instincts and enthusiasm for fast-paced, ambiguous, cross-functional work
- Ready to be in the office five days a week
