JOB-1582

An early-stage company applying agentic AI to contract workflows is looking for a senior engineer who has shipped AI agents as part of a real product. The work is greenfield, reports to the founders and sits inside a small, tightly focused product and engineering group.

Scope

  • Design and build foundational product capabilities from nothing, prioritizing dependability, scale and safety
  • Create software features driven by agentic AI, plus agent workflows tying language models to APIs, data stores, enterprise systems and third-party tools
  • Develop and ship Python-based AI agents that automate intricate contract processes
  • Convert product needs into working systems and delivered features, alongside clients and colleagues
  • Own features across their full lifecycle, from idea to launch to running them
  • Help define how the team builds, which tools it uses and what its culture feels like, as one of the first members

About you

  • Six or more years building and shipping production backend systems, and still writing production code hands-on today
  • Production Python on the backend, plus TypeScript and React on the front end
  • An LLM agent shipped as a user-facing product feature, not just internal tooling or coding assistants
  • Ability to design agent systems covering orchestration, tool calling, evaluation and failure handling
  • Experience at a startup or other high-ownership environment, ideally a small company
  • A plus: AWS or Azure with DevOps, and prior stints as an early or founding engineer

On-site in New York, NY or the San Francisco Bay Area, five days a week, with no relocation support. Visa transfers considered.
