JOB-1469
A young developer-tools startup that automatically reviews the usability of interface changes is hiring a product-minded engineer to take over a role currently held by one of its founders. The job runs from conversations with customers to shipped features, and it carries a real voice in what gets built next.
Day to day
- Spend most of your time either with customers or prototyping fresh product ideas, then bring colleagues along and create first versions
- Stay near customers in shared chat channels, reply fast to requests and spot trends in what fails and what customers are asking for
- Dream up your own features and deliver them throughout the stack, with a capable CTO on hand for the toughest technical problems
- After release, set the definition of success and check with users that the feature actually fixed their issue
- Help steer where the product goes as one of the earliest people on a compact, flat team
About you
- Zero to three years of experience as a software or founding engineer at early-stage companies
- Something you built and launched on your own initiative that real people used or paid for, such as a side project, startup or freelance build
- Experience shipping user-facing features across both UI and backend
- A STEM degree
- A product-first mindset, caring more about usefulness than deep engineering minutiae
On-site in New York, NY. Visa sponsorship is not available.
