JOB-1471

A robotics startup that designs its own hardware and trains its own models for factory automation in electronics is looking for a machine learning engineer to run robot learning from raw data to a policy working on a real machine. The data collection effort is ramping quickly, and the work is applied rather than academic.

Your focus

  • Create pipelines that bring in and validate enormous volumes of robot data daily
  • Fine-tune models after pretraining and set up quick, dependable training workflows
  • Calibrate the hardware and check data quality so models work well on the company’s own rigs
  • Define the team’s conventions for handling data and training models
  • Stay current on advances in robot learning and adopt whatever proves useful

What you bring

  • Anywhere from new-graduate level up to about seven years in robotics machine learning, with an applied mindset
  • Hands-on time with physical systems such as manipulators, drones or autonomous vehicles
  • Trained and deployed learned policies on a robot that actually moves
  • Strong Python and practical command of PyTorch, JAX or something similar
  • Bonus: C++ or Rust, low-level GPU work, distributed training or evaluation infrastructure
  • Willingness to contribute to defense and government robotics applications

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa transfers and new sponsorships are both considered.
