JOB-1531

A seed-stage healthcare AI startup builds conversational agents that speak with patients to enrol them in clinical trials and keep them engaged over the long run. It is entering a new phase centered on a marketplace connecting both sides of trial recruitment, and it needs a founding engineer to create the agent that talks directly with patients behind that move.

Possible projects

  • Coordinating many AI agents that handle patient recruitment across a large number of clinical trials
  • Owning the whole cycle from live conversation logs to evals to improvements in the core agent framework: spotting trouble spots in real chats and turning them into tests
  • Connecting health profile data feeds so the agent reaches out at suitable times and can line up large groups of qualified patients quickly when a trial opens
  • Extending language-model agents over phone, text message and email and keeping each conversation consistent and personal
  • Following emerging agent tools and research and building it into the company’s software foundation

Ideal background

  • Zero to four years as a software, agent or applied AI engineer, with a career focused on agents and large-scale AI applications; former AI startup founders also fit
  • Has put chat or voice agents in front of real consumers at large scale, rather than hobby or internal projects
  • Hands-on with evals, tracing infrastructure and agent harnesses
  • A degree in computer science, math or a related subject
  • Hard-working and good at unblocking yourself
  • Interest in health tech is a plus; the agent must be commercially scalable as well as safe in a regulated industry

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area or South Bay (Silicon Valley), with a start in about a month. Unable to offer visa sponsorship or accept transfers.
