JOB-1456

An early-stage infrastructure startup selling to developer and AI-agent teams is making its first dedicated marketing leader hire. The leader reports to the CEO, works side by side with the head of sales, who closes the deals, and is judged on pipeline rather than output. Hands-on execution comes first, and hiring budget follows results.

Areas of ownership

  • Product marketing: how the two products are positioned, described and sold together, the central story across site, pitch and launch material, and market-side input on pricing and packaging
  • Demand generation: deliver a monthly quota of qualified prospects to the sales team, using channels such as search and answer-engine optimization, content, paid, partnerships, events and support for outbound, while tracking where leads originate, how they convert and what each costs
  • Launches and distribution: ship launches and campaigns, and take charge of the site, email newsletter, social channels, event presence, developer community and hackathons, keeping only the partnerships worth the money
  • Sales enablement: a body of evidence made of customer stories, benchmarks and testimonials, plus pitch decks, competitor comparison sheets and responses to common objections
  • Lifecycle marketing: nurture programs that carry new sign-ups and waitlist leads toward activation and readiness for sales, with reporting on conversion from sign-up to paid

Ideal background

  • Five to eight years in marketing or growth at an early-stage startup of fewer than fifty people, with recent ownership of that function
  • Range across content, social and events rather than demand generation alone
  • Experience running both product-led and sales-led motions
  • Hands-on skill with CRM and marketing automation tools
  • A plus: developer tools, AI infrastructure or voice AI experience
  • Comfort doing the work personally without an existing team

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa sponsorship and transfers are not available.
