A Series A startup applying AI agents to finance and accounting automation is hiring senior and staff software engineers to take responsibility for the base platform layer underneath each product module. You will build infrastructure that multiplies the whole engineering team’s output while staying close to accountants, customers and the founding team.
The platform work
- Create and run the shared platform beneath every product pod, including developer tooling, observability, verification, orchestration and agent frameworks
- Architect the financial data layer that pulls records from CRMs, payroll systems, billing tools, banks and ERPs, then cleans and reconciles them into one dependable source of truth
- Spend time with customers’ controllers and finance staff to learn their workflows, then express them as reusable platform abstractions
- Make architectural calls amid ambiguity, finding bottlenecks, committing to technical directions and shipping across the stack when needed
- Drive cross-team, horizontal efforts that lift what every engineer on the team can accomplish as the business scales rapidly
Profile
- Four to twelve years in backend or platform engineering, with Python and deep distributed-systems experience
- Fundamental platform or infrastructure systems built at scale, plus a high-impact cross-functional project that ran in production
- Ability to ship TypeScript and React on the front end when required
- Comfort speaking directly with finance teams and CFOs about technical solutions
- Daily fluency with AI coding tools
- A plus: fintech, accounting, ERP, payments or ledger experience, and early-stage startup time
