A robotics startup that automates the building of utility-scale solar installations is hiring a senior engineer to work across hardware and software. The role centers on making the mechanical, electronic and software pieces function together as a single machine that performs in the field.
Scope
- Architect and refine mechatronic systems for robots used on construction sites
- Integrate sensors and actuators into the platform
- Refine the boundaries where the mechanical, electronic and software parts meet
- Lead full-system integration and bring-up, and manage the handoff from hardware to software
- Support deployments in the field and iterate on what you learn there
What you bring
- Four to ten years in robotics integration
- Prior work with industrial robot arms
- Python plus at least one lower-level language
- A technical edge in electrical or software engineering, beyond pure mechanical
- Meaningful time at an early-stage, fast-moving company
- A bachelor’s degree in robotics, mechanical, electrical or software engineering, or a related field
On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, four to five days a week. Visa transfers considered.
