A small, fast-moving startup building AI agents that talk to people by voice, text message and email is hiring a founding engineer. The company has grown quickly in its early months in a large market that software has underserved, and its in-person team ships to production every day.
Day to day
- Take full ownership of one core area: the business-facing product, the agent layer covering voice, SMS and email quality, the backend data structures that pair with AI, or the consumer product built from zero
- Make product calls yourself: sit in on customer calls, distill what you hear and ship without a product manager
- Build and tune agents with low-latency voice, strong text response rates and conversation memory that persists across channels
- Set the technical design and quality standards for systems whose output is not deterministic, covering test suites for model behavior, versioned prompts, safety guardrails and monitoring for drift
- Work across the whole stack, using React and Next.js on the client, Node.js on the server and Python for voice services
About you
- Three to eight years in full-stack engineering
- Has shipped a 0-to-1 product, plus time at a hyper-growth startup or a large tech company
- Strong TypeScript, Node.js and React/Next.js
- Built real products on LLM APIs or agent SDKs, beyond tutorials or thin wrappers
- Depth in at least one of: production voice or SMS agents, long-running agent memory, marketplace-style products, or agent evals and guardrails
- Strong product sense and comfort with ambiguity
