JOB-1420
A seed-funded fintech startup that runs a regulated trust company, with a live product already serving clients, needs a second engineer to help define its technical foundation. The charter is hard for competitors to obtain, and the product handles fiduciary work that demands strict correctness and strong security.
Scope
- Design AI-agent workflows for fiduciary tasks, including transaction monitoring, proposed distributions, document extraction, compliance checks and notices to beneficiaries
- Own the evaluation loop for those agents, growing the existing test sets and running automated LLM evaluations in the deployment pipeline
- Extend a fiduciary ledger that tracks income and principal on top of double-entry accounting, with data correctness guaranteed by the database layer and the API
- Sit in on client onboarding calls and convert user frustrations into requirements and an actionable backlog
- Integrate payment rails, compliance vendors and custodians, deciding between purchasing and building
- Build security-first infrastructure with self-hosted authentication, encryption of sensitive data and complete audit logs
- Contribute frontend work that makes complex legal structures easy to understand
What you bring
- Three or more years shipping production software, mainly backend, at a seed to Series B company
- Evidence of driving projects from nothing to completion and deriving requirements yourself
- Strong relational database skills, ideally PostgreSQL, covering schema design, constraints and migrations
- Daily use of AI coding tools
- Pluses: applied LLM or agent harness experience, security instincts, fintech or regulated-industry background
- Stack: PostgreSQL, Go and React with TypeScript; Go and React experience is optional
In-office in New York, NY, five days a week. No visa sponsorship or relocation support.
