JOB-1804
A healthcare technology company needs a staff-level engineer to steer the architecture of the screens that revenue-cycle teams spend their days in, within its software for physician practices. The engineer will head up a sweeping rebuild of the most heavily used pages, which serve a vast base of billing specialists handling claim, scheduling and payment work.
The work
- Chart the engineering course for a shared billing platform that several teams build upon: client and server architecture, UI component standards, interface contracts between services and monitoring practices
- Take point on the hardest problems that span teams, such as huge data-rich grids, bulk edits touching rows by the tens of thousands and one consolidated activity history per claim
- Apply AI where it clearly eliminates friction, for example comparing claims, explaining why submissions fail and proposing rules, without leaning too heavily on language models
- Lift engineering quality through design reviews, thorough code reviews and mentorship that reaches people on every team
- Be accountable for production health, including page rendering and query speed, handling of replica delay and the condition of the claim submission pipeline
Ideal background
- Eight or more years creating large full-stack applications and guiding several teams toward a common technical plan
- Deep skill in TypeScript with React, Python (FastAPI) and PostgreSQL, including the ability to find and resolve rendering slowdowns in dense interfaces
- Experience rolling out a shared design system or UI component library across a big engineering organization
- A history of leading platform rewrites or migrations lasting many months and involving many teams, delivered gradually so users never notice breakage
- Strong REST API and database-layer design for filtering, grouping and paging through very large datasets with tuned queries
- Familiarity with billing data such as claims, payments and denial codes
Hybrid, based in or relocating to Silicon Valley, the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles or New York, NY. Visa transfers considered.
