JOB-1754

A company that acquires and modernizes machine shops serving aerospace and defense customers is hiring a senior compliance specialist. You would set one common standard for safety, export and cyber obligations across every facility the business brings in, while keeping the shops productive.

What you’ll own

  • Evaluate risk at each facility across workplace safety, export compliance and defense cyber requirements, with worker safety as the first priority
  • Design a single repeatable compliance framework of procedures, audit checklists and training that newly acquired shops can adopt quickly
  • Lead compliance diligence before deals close and drive remediation plans once a facility joins
  • Maintain working relationships with regulators and certifiers such as OSHA, and keep each site aligned with export rules, DFARS, NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC 2.0
  • Build controls and audit records into the company’s internal software, with live dashboards tracking incident trends, outstanding risks and remediation status

Profile

  • Seven or more years in compliance, safety or export control, ideally in manufacturing for aerospace or defense customers
  • Strong depth in one or more of EHS, ITAR/EAR export compliance or defense cybersecurity
  • Hands-on skill in risk assessment, auditing, root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Comfortable on a shop floor; this is operational work, not policy writing from a desk
  • Pragmatic enough to weigh risk against production speed
  • Certifications such as CSP, CHMM, CISSP, CISM or CMMC credentials are a plus

On-site in Los Angeles, Denver or Seattle, with heavy travel (roughly 60-80%) between facilities. U.S. citizenship is required; no visa sponsorship or transfers.
