Fund Finance and Automation Manager (Venture Investment Firm)

A venture investment firm backing deep-tech and science-driven companies is adding its second finance team member. Reporting to the finance chief, this person looks after the money side of a group of funds and drives the move to a new AI-based fund administration system.

Scope

• Run fund accounting for several funds, including statements of each investor’s capital account and reporting to limited partners
• Drive rollout and tuning of the new AI-powered fund administration system
• Convert repetitive finance tasks into automated workflows instead of repeating them manually
• Keep investment records, valuation marks and data on each portfolio company tidy and accurate
• Support the finance chief on occasional strategic projects across the portfolio

About you

• Three to six years working in fund accounting or administration, venture or private-equity finance, or fund audit
• Command of fund statements, management fees, NAV, distributions and capital calls
• Experience automating or rebuilding a finance workflow, via spreadsheet macros, SQL or AI tools
• Curiosity about AI tools and automation, with Python familiarity as a bonus
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related area
• Genuine pull toward frontier technology, scientific work or broader societal impact

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, five days a week. Visa transfers are considered.
