JOB-1426

A venture-backed startup running a live trading platform is growing its San Francisco presence and needs backend engineers who have used Rust in production. The team works closely in person and values async programming skills, low-level systems understanding and a performance mindset.

Day to day

  • Develop and run risk and liquidation engines that keep capital efficient when markets swing sharply
  • Design the on-chain state machines that drive order execution, settlement and risk handling
  • Create services that keep data consistent between asynchronous processes through voting and consensus protocols
  • Ingest streaming market data and orchestrate activity on multiple exchanges, including WebSocket feeds and time-sensitive flows
  • Deliver fast REST and WebSocket APIs for the trading front end, with responses in milliseconds

What you bring

  • Two to four years as a backend engineer, with production Rust and async experience such as Tokio
  • Backend services built for real-time, high-throughput systems
  • Familiarity with relational, time-series and key-value databases
  • Genuine interest in trading and financial markets
  • Startup experience, ideally venture-backed
  • Fintech, trading or blockchain background, low-latency work and personal projects in Rust or C are all pluses

On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa transfers considered, with TN visa support also available.
