Target Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 per year

SUMMARY:
A well-regarded law firm is seeking a Practice Group Administrator to provide daily operational support to the Labor & Employment Practice Group Leader. The Administrator will play a key role in implementing strategic initiatives, monitoring financial performance, managing workflow, and coordinating resources across multiple service areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the Practice Group Leader in implementing the group’s strategic plan.

  • Assist with addressing productivity, workload management, and staffing needs.

  • Coordinate practice group meetings, prepare agendas, and facilitate discussions.

  • Monitor financial performance, review monthly reports, and prepare analyses for leadership.

  • Review pre-bills, budgets, and contracts for compliance; assist with budget increases and contract management.

  • Ensure proper processes for calendaring, conflicts, new matters, and billing.

  • Draft and deliver consistent internal communications to practice group members.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Business Development, IT, Recruiting, Library, and Practice Support to ensure adequate resources.

  • Partner with Marketing on strategic initiatives and business development alignment.

  • Oversee workflow of paralegals and secretaries; provide daily administrative support.

  • Coordinate preparation of legal documents, pleadings, research, and filings as needed.

  • Identify and oversee staff training needs; develop instructional materials and conduct training.

  • Stay up to date with trends, tools, and technology used in law firms.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide support during urgent matters.

  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and external vendors.

  • Travel to firm offices as required and work extended hours when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience).

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a paralegal, business manager, or attorney.

  • Prior experience with labor & employment matters preferred.

  • Strong ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and vendors.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal operations.
