Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Office Manager/Legal Secretary to oversee daily operations and provide high-level legal administrative support within their Sacramento office. This hybrid role blends leadership responsibilities with hands-on legal support, requiring exceptional multitasking, communication, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of supervisory experience and litigation support capabilities to maintain efficient office functions and uphold the firm’s high standards of client service and internal operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily office operations and manage non-attorney staff in coordination with the Partner in Charge.
- Handle HR tasks including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure attorney support needs are met; manage assignments, coverage, and workflow coordination.
- Liaise with IT, Facilities, and Marketing departments for local office needs.
- Organize staff meetings and morale-building events.
- Provide litigation support to one or two attorneys, including drafting documents, court filings, calendaring, and trial prep.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with firm policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in office management, preferably within a legal or professional services setting.
- At least 5 years of litigation legal secretary experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with document management systems like iManage preferred.
- Typing speed of at least 70 WPM with strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leadership and delegation capabilities with a high degree of professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
